Description:

Established to preserve the memory of war veterans, the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives features numerous artifacts including military uniforms, medals, weapons, news clippings and photos. The museum is divided into three areas: the Tyler Craig Memorial Library, the Bob McAbee Exhibit Hall and the Wendell Powers Auditorium. Situated in the old L&N Freight Depot, the museum is near the center of town and the Athens' Historic District.
